One of the best gifts you can give your kids is family photos from their favorite vacations to remember for years to come. Growing up in Michigan means you know all about lake life, up north and all the fun that those things have to offer. Whether it’s an inland lake or one of the Great Lakes, chances are you love to take a dip in the lake during the summer with your family. As a kid we visited my Aunt’s cottage many times in the summer at Eight Point Lake. A few times that are also memorable we went with another set of cousins up to Higgins Lake. My kids have grown up visiting Lake Michigan and Lake Huron’s shorelines each summer, and since my sister recently moved to Marquette we’ve added my personal favorite, Lake Superior, into the mix. 

Family Photos at the Lake

Spending time with our family in a place that we will always remember is such a special piece of our childhood. I distinctly remember standing in the lake and feeling the minnows nibble at my legs, jumping off the dock and taking a boat ride in the evening.

Vacation sessions are partly my favorite because there are so many opportunities to capture childhood joy. Something about the sand, water and sun that brings out the best in life.

Rosy cheeks and heavy eyes that insist they aren’t tired when all signs point to the obvious.
